RAB nab 13 human traffickers in city, Keraniganj

Thirteen members of a human trafficking gang, including two Rohingya people, were arrested by the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from different parts of the city and Keraniganj on Thursday night, reports UNB.

The two Rohingyas were identified as Mushfeka (19) and Nur Begum while the others were identified as Shantana (13), Babul Mia (40), his wife Kakoli (35, Jahangir Alam (52), Manik (45), Rana Biswas (34), Humayun Kabir (43), Al-Mamun (35), Mahfuzur Rahman Masud (40), Faruk Mia (25) and Gouranga Sarkar- all hailing from different parts of the country.

Tipped off, a team of RAB-10 led by its deputy commander Major Mohammad Ashraful Haque conducted a drive in Hasnabad of South Keraniganj upazila and arrested Mushfeka, Nur Begum and Shantana.

According to the statement of the arrestees, the elite force members conducted drives in other parts of the capital in the night and arrested ten more people, said a press release.
