FARIDPUR, June 19 (UNB): A father was stabbed to death allegedly by his son as the father declined to pay money at Brahmanpara village in Bhanga Upazila on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Akkas Sikdar (48), son of Gopal Sikdar of the same village.

He had a grocery shop and used to drive auto-bike.

Locals said Akkas Sikdar married thrice and the accused Shah Alam (20) is his son from the second wife.

Shah Alam used to come to his father and ask for money although Akkas divorced Alam's mother five years back.

On Monday night around 9:15 pm, Alam stopped his father on Gabtoli-Kalameridha regional road and asked for money while his father (Akkas) was returning home but he denied to pay him money.

At one stage of an altercation, Alam stabbed his father indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot, sources added.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Faridpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Sub-inspector (investigation) Md Miraz Hossain of Bhanga Police Station.

Meanwhile, Akkas's third wife Jesmin Begum filed a case accusing Alam with the police station on the same night.
