Woman succumbs to burns

A woman has succumbed to the burns she suffered after an air conditioning unit exploded in city's Uttara, reports bdnews24.com.

Her husband had previously died from his injuries in the same explosion.

Bilkis Baby, 40, passed away at the Dhaka Medical College Burn Unit on Monday. Her husband, 50-year-old Alamgir Bhuiyan, died on Sunday afternoon.

The two had suffered burns on 95 per cent of their bodies, said Dhaka Medical College Police Outpost Inspector Md Bachchu Mia, citing doctors.

A fire had broken out on the fifth floor of the Uttara Sector 3 holding 41 building at 03:30 am on Mar 19.
