14-party to wage social movement against anarchy on roads: Nasim

Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim Saturday said the 14-party grand alliance will create a social movement against the anarchic situation on roads and highways, reports BSS.

"A social movement would be created against the anarchy on the roads and highways, drug abuse and child repression," he said, speaking at a meeting at thes Jatiya Press Club in the city.

Bangabandhu Academy organised the meeting marking the sixth death anniversary of former president and one of the organisers of the Liberation War Zillur Rahman with its president Nazmul Haque in the chair.

Nasim, also the spokesperson of the AL-led 14-party alliance, said, "People are being killed on roads one after another.

The prime minister has also issued directives to address this issue. It was also discussed in parliament and some decisions were taken. Now, those decisions would have to be implemented."

He said the 14-party grand alliance would create a social movement against this anarchy, drugs and child repression across the country.

AL Advisory Council Members Advocate Yousuf Humayun and Mozaffar Hossain Paltu and AL leader MA Karim, among others, addressed the meeting.
