AL invites aspirants to collect nomination forms from Friday

Awami League (AL) has asked its aspirants for the Khulna-4 by-polls to collect the party nomination form Friday to Sunday next, reports UNB.

The aspirants will have to collect the application form from AL's president Sheikh Hasina's political office in the city's Dhanmondi area between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm on the days, said a press release on Wednesday.

The aspirants were also asked to submit their applications at the office within 5:00 pm on Sunday for contesting the by-polls with the ruling party ticket. The election will be held on September 20.

The Khulna-4 constituency fell vacant with the death of AL's three-time lawmaker SM Mostafa Rashidi Suja on July 26 last.

The Election Commission on Tuesday last announced the schedule for the by-election to Khulna-4 comprising of Rupsa, Terokhada and Dighalia.
