AL men attack Ganosanghati campaigners

At least seven members of Ganosanghati Andolan were injured early Wednesday as a group of ruling party men reportedly attacked them at Gymnasium of Dhaka University, reports UNB.

Witnesses said a group of Awami League men launched the attack with iron rods and sticks at around 01:00 am as the Ganasanghati members were staying overnight there after their day-long election campaign for their candidate Zonayed Saki in Dhaka-12 constituency.

The injured campaigners remained besieged in the rooms of Gymnasium for half an hour while the ruling party men were seen patrolling the area with weapons.

Later, party's senior leaders rushed to the spot and however managed to rescue the injured and sent them to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
