Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) demanded on Wednesday immediate holding of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) polls, reports BSS.

The BCL brought out a procession from the university's Madhur Canteen and after marching different streets of the campus with it, the pro-Awami League student body held a rally at Aparajeya Bangla.

In the rally, BCL leaders raised various demands that include holding of the Ducsu polls immediately, giving framework to turn DU as a full-fledged residential university, control over movement of public transports through the campus, formation of education commission to evaluate evening programmes, maximum allocation for research activities, ensuring proper food facilities for students and atomisation of all academic-administrative tasks to reduce students' sufferings.

BCL central president Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon, general secretary Golam Rabbani, BCL DU unit president Sanjit Chandra Das and BCL DU unit general secretary Saddam Hossain, among others, spoke at the rally.
