BCL leader cuts off man's fingers over land dispute in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, May 18 (UNB): A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader chopped off four fingers of a man's right hand in Kalaroa upazila on Friday over a land dispute, police and family members said.

The victim was identified as GM Tushar, son of Munsur Gazi of Paturia village of the upazila.

Gazi said they had dispute over a piece of land in the village with Montu, one of their neighbours.

In continuation of the dispute, Mehedi Hasan Nice, general secretary of BCL's Kalaroa upazila unit, and his associates beat up Tushar. They cut off his fingers with a machete.

The victim was admitted to Sadar Hospital after the attack. He was later shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
