HC turns down Andaleeve's plea for EVM use in Bhola-1

Rejects writ against appointment of CEC, four commissioners

The High Court (HC) rejected on Monday a writ petition filed by Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partho seeking the use of electronic voting machine (EVM) in his constituency Bhola-1 during the 11th parliamentary election, reports UNB.

A bench of Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and Justice Mohammad Ali passed the order after hearing the writ.

Meanwhile, the HC rejected the writ petition challenging the legality of the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner and four commissioners.

An HC bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal passed the order.

Earlier on November 26, Delwar Hossain, a lawyer, filed the writ with the HC.
