JL wants Sept 28 to be declared as 'People's Empowerment Day'

Bangladesh Awami Jubo League (JL), youth wing of the ruling Awami League, on Saturday urged the government to declare September 28, the birthday of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as the "People's Empowerment Day", reports BSS.

The Jubo League (JL) at a discussion in the capital also urged the authorities concerned to include Sheikh Hasina's "People's Empowerment" philosophy in the academic curriculum.

"We urge the government to declare the birthday of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina on September 28 as the 'People's Empowerment Day' and also include her philosophy of 'People's Empowerment' in the textbook," JL chairman Omar Faruk Chowdhury made the demand at the meeting here.

Dhaka City South Unit of Awami Jubo League arranged the discussion as part of its month-long programme to celebrate the birthday of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the 'People's Empowerment Day'.
