JP replaces secy gen Howlader with Ranga

December 04, 2018 00:00:00

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad made on Monday party presidium member Moshiur Rahman Ranga its secretary general removing Ruhul Amin Hawlader from the post, reports UNB.

Ershad took the decision as per section 20/1/A of the Jatiya Party constitution giving it immediate effect, his deputy press secretary Delwar Jalali said.

Ranga, also the State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives, will discharge the duty of party secretary general alongside party's presidium member as his additional charge, said a party press release.

However, the reason behind the removal of Hawlader was not mentioned in the press release.

Hawlader faced the fresh blow with his removal from Jatiya Party's secretary general post, a day after his nomination for Patuakhali-1 seat was rejected by election officials for 'loan default'.

Party insiders said Ershad took the decision to appease the party rank and file as allegations have it that the Jatiya Party chairman in connivance with Hawlader nominated party candidates taking huge money from them, depriving many deserving ones.

The aggrieved nomination hopefuls and their supporters also recently staged demonstrations at the party's Banani office.
