Injured Oikya Front candidate for Ishurdi-Atghoria constituency who is running the poll race with Sheaf of Paddy being carried by supporters as he was stabbed by miscreants on the Alhaj Textile Mills School ground on Wednesday — Focus Bangla PABNA, Dec 26 (UNB): Some unidentified miscreants stabbed BNP candidate for Pabna-4 constituency Habibur Rahman during electioneering at Alhaj High School ground in Ishwardi upazila on Wednesday noon.
The victim's nephew Sumon Mondol alleged that a group of Awami League leaders and activists swooped on them with locally made sharp weapons around 12 pm.
During the attack, Habibur Rahman sustained critical injuries, he said adding that the BNP leader was taken to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex.
Meanwhile, Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-charge Bahauddin Faruki said they have heard about the incident.
