Priyanka Chopra visits Rohingya children at refugee camps

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has come to Bangladesh to inspect the Rohingya refugee camps, reports bdnews24.com.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has met Rohingya people and their children at a refugee camp in Bangladesh.

She visited the Shamlapur camp on Monday afternoon at Teknaf in Cox's Bazar district where the refugees from Myanmar have taken shelter, Cox's Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police Afrajul Haque Tutul said.

She arrived at Shahjalal International Airport in a flight from France on Monday morning.

From there she took a US-Bangla flight to Cox's Bazar.

The actress is visiting the camps in her capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Police officer Tutul said Chopra also visited the local office of the UN agency for children before the refugee camp visit.

He said the actress spoke to the Rohingya children at different blocks of the refugee camp.

She declined speaking to the media during the visit.

Before ending her four-day tour on Thursday, she will visit the Balukhali and Jamtali refugee camps in Ukhiya on Tuesday and the Kutupalong Rohingya refugee camp on Wednesday.
