RAB arrest JMB man in Sirajganj

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a member of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in Sirajganj, reports bdnews24.com.

The detainee has been identified Sabbir Hossain (26).

RAB-12 Sirajganj Camp Commander Major Md Raihan said on Wednesday the arrest came as part of a case that dates back to 2016.

A group of people was holding a secret meeting in Palpara village in Pabna in 2016 to conduct subversive activities.

"The law enforcers raided the area and arrested two members of the JMB," Raihan said.

Another member, Sabbir Hossain, managed to flee the area along with 10-15 others.

A case was filed against Sabbir with the Sujanagar thana and he had remained absconding since then.
