SC stays HC bail to ex-MP Rana until Mar 31

The Supreme Court (SC) has stayed until March 31 the High Court (HC) order that had granted bail to former Awami League (AL) MP from Tangail-3 Amanur Rahman Khan Rana in a case filed over the killing of freedom fighter (FF) and AL leader Faruk Ahmed, reports UNB.

Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division (AD) Justice Hasan Foyez Siddique passed the order following a petition on Monday.

It also fixed March 31 for hearing on the petition in the full-bench of the AD.

Advocate Sayed Ahmed Raza stood for Rana while Attorney General MahbubeyAlam represented the state.
