Speaker for imbuing new generation with Liberation War spirit

Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today stressed on exercising true history of the Liberation War to imbue the new generation with its sprit, reports BSS.

"The true history of the Liberation War should be spread among generation after generation as the youths can take the country ahead being imbued with the spirit of the Liberation War," she told a function organised to accord a reception to freedom fighters, sector commanders and artistes at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) auditorium in the city.

Describing freedom fighters as the great sons of this soil, Dr Shirin said women freedom fighters had also great contributions to the Liberation War.

She said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had a dream to build a Sonar Bangla ensuring economic and political emancipation of the people.

Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to build a hunger-poverty and repression free Sonar Bangla as dreamt by the Father of the Nation, she said.

Dr Shirin said Bangladesh has become a role model of development under the dynamic leadership of the premier.
