LONDON, May 24 (Agencies): India will face New Zealand in their opening warm-up game of the World Cup here Saturday.

India yet to clear the haze of confusion over the number four position, it will be much more than a ritual of allowing one top-order batsman after another -- behemoths in their own right -- a hit in the middle.

New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman Tom Latham will miss the two warm-up matches against India and West Indies on May 25 and 28, respectively, due to injury.

Uncapped back-up Tom Blundell is set to keep the wickets.

"Tom won't be available for the first two warm-up games. We are hoping he progresses nice and quickly and we will have to address it as the days go by," ICC quoted Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson, as saying on Thursday, while confirming the news at the Captains' Day in London.

Kohli's men, second behind England in the one-day international rankings, will start the tournament among the favourites alongside the host nation and defending champions Australia.

They begin their campaign in tournament proper against South Africa in Southampton on June 5, but India will get their first feel of the mega event in the iconic British capital.

England captain Eoin Morgan will undergo "a precautionary X-ray" after injuring his left index finger in training, the England and Wales Cricket Board announced on Friday.

Morgan was practising with his teammates at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton ahead of Saturday's unofficial World Cup warm-up against Australia when he took a blow during catching drills.
