Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is set to leave Dhaka for West Indies today (Tuesday) by an Emirates Airlines flight, reports UNB.

He will join the Bangladesh team in Jamaica to play the three-match ODI series beginning on Sunday (July 22) at Providence.

Prior to the three-match ODI series, the Tigers will play preparatory tour match against UWI Vice-Chancellors Eleven on Thursday (July 19) in Kingston.

The Bangladesh skipper is likely to join the Bangladesh side in Jamaica tomorrow (Wednesday) after transit in Dubai, Italy and New York.

Mashrafe failed to accompany ODI specialists cricketers -- top order batsman Enamul Haque Bijoy and cutter master Mustafizur Rahman -- on Saturday due to sickness of his wife Sumi, who was admitted to Apollo Hospitals Dhaka with serious fever last week.

However, Mashrafe has now decided to travel to West Indies as his wife is recovering from fever and now she is out of danger.

Bangladesh cricket team, now touring West Indies under the leadership of all-rounder ShakibAl Hasan, were whitewashed in the two-match Test series with an innings and 219 runs defeat in the first match making their over lowest Test total of 43 runs and conceding a 166-run defeat in the 2nd Test.
