Dutch-Bangla Bank distributed scholarship awards to 2,038 students who passed SSC/equivalent examination in 2019 and are studying at H.S.C. level in different colleges of the country in the city.
The bank arranged a ceremony at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city on the occasion on Saturday.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anisul Huq was present as the chief guest while Governor of Bangladesh Bank Fazle Kabir was present as special guest and handed over the scholarships among the recipients.
Sayem Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Directors of Dutch-Bangla Bank, presided over the function.
Dutch-Bangla Bank, under its social cause program, has been awarding scholarship to the meritorious students in need of financial aid studying at Higher Secondary and Graduation levels.
Speaking at the function, Mr. Anisul Huq lauded the scholarship programme of the bank and recalled other philanthropic activities of the Bank.
Dutch-Bangla Bank created a unique but replicable model of corporate social responsibility by awarding underprivileged but meritorious students, he said.
He appreciated the DBBL's continuous humanitarian and welfare activities and termed this scholarship program as a unique example of helping the meritorious and needy students of the country.
He hope that all the corporate bodies of the country would come forward with such programmes for the benefit of the society. He congratulated the scholarship awardees and expected that they would dedicate themselves by achieving real education.
He urged students to study attentively and become good human being to contribute to the nation.
