Ceramics sector witnesses highest price appreciation in last week

The ceramics sector witnessed the highest price appreciation in last week following investors' increased participation.

During the week, the sector witnessed 9.20 per cent return in market capitalisation on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

The companies' share prices rose ranging from 1.60 per cent to 21 per cent in five last sessions executed on the DSE.

Of the companies, Standard Ceramic Industries was in the list of the weekly top 10 gainers.

The share price of Fu-Wang Ceramic Industries closed at Tk 10.80 each on Thursday with a rise of 2.86 per cent or Tk 0.30.

The company's share price rose 7.0 per cent or Tk 0.70 in five sessions of last week.

The share price of Monno Ceramic Industries closed at Tk 215.70 each on Thursday. The closing price of the company's shares was Tk 213.30 in previous week.

On Thursday, the share price of the RAK Ceramics (Bangladesh) closed at Tk 35.10 each with a rise of 11 per cent or Tk 3.40 from the closing price of the week previous week.

The share price of the Shinepukur Ceramics closed at Tk 14.30 on Thursday with a marginal rise of 7.46 per cent or Tk 1.0.

In last week, the company's share price rose 12.59 per cent or Tk 1.60 from the closing price of the previous week.

On Thursday, the share price of Standard Ceramic Industries closed at Tk 370.90 each with a rise of 2.85 per cent or Tk 10.30.

The company's share price rose 21 per cent or Tk 63.60 in five sessions of last week.

In last week, the ceramics sector featured a turnover of Tk 153.80 million and grabbed 3.60 per cent of the exchange's total turnover.
