DBBL inks refinance agreement with BB

The Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) signed a participatory refinance agreement with the Bangladesh Bank (BB) under the Second Small and Medium Sized Enterprise Development Project (SMEDP-2) at the head office of the Bangladesh Bank recently, said a statement.

Under this agreement, the Dutch-Bangla Bank will get refinance from Bangladesh Bank which enables them to extend loan to the cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises situated outside Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas at lower interest rate. A customer can avail a maximum of Tk 30 million in loans under this scheme.

AKM Fazlur Rahman, Project Director of SMEDP-2 and Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, and Abul Kashem Md Shirin, Managing Director & CEO of Dutch-Bangla Bank, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Md Abul Bashor, General Manager, Department of Financial Inclusion, Bangladesh Bank, Md Abedur Rahman Sikder, SEVP & Chief Retail Business Officer (CRBO), Md Anwar Faruq Talukder, EVP & Head of SME (PPG) Division of Dutch-Bangla Bank, and other high officials from both the organisations attended the programme.
