The stakeholders should work together for further development of the country's capital market.
Professor M. Khairul Hossain, the chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), said this on Wednesday when newly-elected leaders of the DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA) called on him at his office.
"The ongoing development of the capital market should be continued. The stakeholders should come forward to solve any problem through discussion," the chairman told the DBA delegation.
The chairman has also expressed optimism that the contribution of the capital market to national economy would be visible day by day, according to a DBA release.
"The objective of the securities regulator is to ensure more development of the capital market. In that case, the stakeholders should work together," the BSEC chairman said.
The newly-elected DBA leaders called on the BSEC chairman under the leadership of DBA president Md. Shakil Rizvi.
Mr. Rizvi said country's capital market is gaining foreign investors' interest day by day.
"The DBA will work for the market development under the leadership of the securities regulator," the newly-elected DBA president said at the courtesy meeting held with the BSEC chairman and commissioners.
Three BSEC commissioners Professor Helal Uddin Nizami, Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala and Khondoker Kamaluzzaman were also present on the occasion.
