0.3m to get jobs in hi-tech parks

RAJSHAHI, Sept 23 (BSS): State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said more than 0.3 million youths, both boys and girls, will get jobs within the next three years in 28 hi-tech parks now being constructed outside Dhaka.

The Rajshahi Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-tech Park, now under construction, will play a vital role in boosting the economy of the region by creating technology-based employment, he said.

Around 14,000 youths will get jobs in this hi-tech park, he added.

The state minister spoke at a public gathering after opening the construction work of a 10-storied silicon tower, boundary wall, power substation, deep tube-well and rainwater harvesting plant at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-tech Park as the chief guest on Sunday.

The Hi-tech park is being built on 31 acres of land at Bulanpur area with an estimated cost of Tk 2.31 billion to make Rajshahi as the city of technology.

The project is scheduled to be complete by December 2021.
