BB governor for export-led development

Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Fazle Kabir stressed on Saturday the need for export-led and manufacture-dominated development for the country's desired economic uplift.

He advised the banks to come forward with their innovative and modern technologies to this effect.

He mentioned that the country's bond and capital market were yet to develop to the expected level.

The BB governor was speaking at the 11th prize giving ceremony of successful candidates of Banking Diploma examinations, organised by the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (IBB) held at Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management in the capital.

He distributed 15 gold and 24 silver medals and 104 cash prizes among the winners for their outstanding performances in the exams.

Members of IBB council, chief executives officers of IBB member banks and financial institutions, distinguished fellows of IBB and IBB Secretary General Mohammad Naushad Ali Chowdhury, among others, were present.
