BIAC signs MoU with London College of Legal Studies (North)

The London College of Legal Studies (North), a registered centre of the University of London International Programmes, and the Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the city on Sunday.

The MoU will establish a basis upon which both LCLS (North) and BIAC may explore areas of further collaboration in respect of the use of facilities and services provided by both the institutions, says a statement.

The London College of Legal Studies (North) provides unparallel opportunities to study law in an energetic and creative legal environment.

Founded in 2004, the college has flourished and grown and is now home to a few hundred law graduates. The college endeavors to give its members a rewarding, richly resourced and intellectually inspiring environment to pursue their education and research in law.

Under the MoU, both the institutions will be able to exchange information and publications of mutual interest in the field of commercial arbitration and mediation and organise seminars, symposia, workshops, roundtables, conferences, awareness programmes and trainings.

The MoU was signed by Muhammad A (Rumee) Ali, Chief Executive Officer of BIAC, and Barrister Taufiqur Rahman, Principal, LCLS (North).

The instrument of the MoU was exchanged by Barrister Taufiqur Rahman and MA Akmall Hossain Azad, Director, BIAC, at a simple ceremony on the LCLS (North) campus at Banani in the city on Sunday.

Head of Laws Barrister Arunav Das Shuvro, Head of International Relations Barrister Asif Rahmatullah, Lecturer & Student Liaison Officer Barrister Phabliha Nusaiba Khalid and Lecturer & International Relations Officer Barrister Rabbiul Alam Rafi of LCLS (North) along with BIAC Senior Counsel Mahbuba Rahman Runa attended the ceremony.
