The BIDA-DBCCI Trade and Investment delegation kick-started their first leg of the programme by holding a seminar and B2B meetings at the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS) in Brussels, says a statement.

The seminar was held with the support of EIAS and Bangladesh Embassy in Belgium, which was followed up by B2B meetings between Bangladeshi businessmen and their Belgian counterparts recently.

The trade delegation comprises 50 participants representing BEZA, PPP, ministries of water, commerce, shipping and other government organisations and a select group of renowned private businesses.

Alexander Spachis, member of the Advisory board, EIAS, chaired the seminar.

BIDA Executive Chairman Kazi Aminul Islam, leader of the delegation, delivered the keynote address, highlighting veritable investment opportunities in Bangladesh. This was followed by presentations from government agencies of Bangladesh, interactive sessions and a networking lunch.

Mr Faruque Hassan, President, DBCCI, emphasised the pivotal role of DBCCI in organising the trade delegation for bringing businesses of Belgium and Bangladesh together and promoting trade cooperation between the two countries.

He thanked all the participants for their active involvement.

After lunch, the delegates visited the port of Antwerp, and the day ended with a reception hosted by Honorary Consul of Bangladesh in Antwerp Patrick Swolf.
