BIMSTEC team visits BARI

A 12-member delegation of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) visited Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) in the capital on Thursday. Pasinee Napombejra, Policy and Plan Analyst of Office of Agricultural Economics, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand, led the delegation that included representatives from Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand. High officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) accompanied the delegation. Director (Training and Communication) Zebun Nessa and other directors welcomed the delegation at the institute. The team visited Soil Science Lab, IPM and Toxicology Lab and expressed their satisfaction over the activities, advancement and achievements of BARI. They also attended a brief session at the Institute where Principal Scientific Officer Dr. Dilwar Ahmed Choudhury gave a brief power point presentation on the activities and achievements of BARI.
