Business leaders have urged the authorities concerned to take more steps to develop infrastructure, including seaports and rail network, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, reports BSS.

The call came at a meeting of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Standing Committee relating to the Planning Ministry held at its board room in the city on Monday.

Director In-Charge of the committee Shafiqul Islam Vorosha presented the detailed future plan of the committee, says a press release.

Chairman of the Standing Committee Enayet Hossain Chowdhury presided over the meeting.

Taking part in the discussion, the business leaders expressed their interest to work with the Planning Ministry for developing infrastructure to facilitate trade and industrial activities.

They also stressed the need for steps to ease traffic congestions in the capital, which is hampering business activities.

Besides, they urged the authorities concerned to set up the 'Cattle markets' before Eid-ul Azha in such a way that the business activities are not hampered.

FBCCI Vice President M Muntakim Ashraf and FBCCI directors Helena Jahangir, Abu Motaleb, Yusuf Ashraf and Hafez Harun-Or-Roshid spoke at the meeting.
