Dual show aimed at promoting business sector in Bangladesh

Construction, woodworking fairs kick off in city Thursday

Dhaka will simultaneously host two international expositions which will kick off at the International Convention City, Bashundhara on Thursday.

The June 20-June 22 exhibitions, one on building constructions and the other on woodworking, will have a common objective - to promote the business sector in the country, said the organisers at a press conference at a city hotel on Monday.

ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd and Futurex Trade Fairs and Events Pvt. Ltd are arranging the two trade shows styled the fifth edition of 'Bangladesh BUILDCON International Expo-2019' and fifth International JAT presents 'Bangladesh WOOD 2019'.

The three-day events will mainly focus on architecture, building and construction materials and technology.

A total of 250 participants from 10 countries will showcase more than 3,000 exhibits, including materials, products, equipment, machinery and technology, related to building, constructions, and roads and highways.

In the other exposition, woodworking machinery for furniture manufacturing, laminating, hardware and tools, fittings and fixtures, boards, coating, abrasives and adhesives will be put on display. It will be organised for the benefit of the woodworking and furniture sector in the country, said Managing Director of ASK Trade and Exhibitions Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan.

The aim of the trade shows is to modernise machinery, equipment, tools and materials being showcased by the international exhibitors, improving quality (of the products) and enhance productivity, the organisers said.

"The shows also aim at bringing global technology and materials close to the doorsteps of the local manufacturers," Tipu Sultan added.

Leading international companies from China, India, Italy, USA, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Austria, Malaysia, Turkey and hosts Bangladesh will take part in the exhibitions.

The shows will remain open between 11:00am to 8:00pm every day.
