Fisheries, livestock ministry spends 70.89pc of funds in 11 months

The fisheries and livestock ministry spent Tk 5.84 billion of the total allocation for 48 projects during the period from July 2017 to May 2018.

The amount is 70.89 per cent of the total outlay of Tk 8.26 billion earmarked for the projects.

Of the funds, the fisheries department spent Tk 2.78 billion for its 26 projects against Tk 4.07 billion ear marked.

The livestock services department spent Tk 3.05 billion for its 22 projects against Tk 4.17 billion.

On the other hand, Tk 5.59 billion or 68.11 per cent was spent for 56 projects in the fisheries and livestock sub-sector against Tk 8.21 billion.

The 31 projects under the fisheries department spent Tk 3.07 billion against Tk 4.19 billion.

Twenty-five projects under the livestock department spent Tk 2.52 billion against Tk 4.01 billion.

A high official of the ministry said they were expecting to implement 48 projects within the time frame.
