The three-day National Bee Fair (Jatiya Mou Mela) - 2019 ended on Tuesday with a huge response from the customers, general visitors and entrepreneurs.
Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzak inaugurated the fair as the chief guest at AKM Giasuddin Milky Auditorium in the capital on Sunday.
Ministry of Agriculture organised the fair, held under the theme of "Bee Cultivation Will Increase Nutrition, Income and Harvest".
Honey of different flowers estimated to be worth Tk 3.0 million was sold at this year's fair, said the organisers.
They said Tk 1.1 million worth of honey was sold at the last year's fair.
A colourful concluding ceremony was held at the auditorium yesterday.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Dr. Md. Abdur Rouf attended the concluding function as the chief guest.
Director General of the Department of Agricultural Extension Mir Nurul Alam chaired the programme.
Prizes were distributed among the participants at the end of the ceremony.
A total of 62 stalls, showcasing different varieties of honey, were set up at this year's fair by 59 public and private organisations.
The fair remained open for the visitors from 9:00am to 9:00pm every day.
