Malaysia wants to expand trade with BD

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the export promotion agency of Malaysia, has assured Bangladesh of providing all-out support for expanding business ties between the two friendly countries. To further promote bilateral trade between Malaysia and Bangladesh, MATRADE in cooperation of the Bangladesh Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) organised an 'Export Acceleration Mission (EAM) to Dhaka' with a delegation of 15 Malaysian companies. The two-day event concluded in the capital on Monday. Marking the EMA, a seminar on "Doing Business in Bangladesh" was held on Sunday at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in the city. Malaysian High Commissioner in Dhaka Nur Ashikin Mohd Taib and BMCCI Vice President Syed Sadat Almas Kabir, among others, spoke. Taib urged the Malaysian companies and businessmen to invest more in Bangladesh as there is an investment-friendly environment here. — BSS

BICDA congratulates CPA chairman

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 12: Bangladesh Inland Container Depots Association (BICDA) has congratulated Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) Chairman Real Admiral Zulfiquer Aziz for having been promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral in Bangladesh Navy. Praising the CPA Chairman for his initiatives in making the port more developed and dynamic, the BICDA delegation assured him of their sincere and continued cooperation and support for smooth functioning of the country's prime seaport. The BICDA delegation was comprised of its first vice chairman and managing director of Summit Alliance Port Ltd Jowher Rizvi, its director Omar Faruque Chowdhury Sabuj, deputy managing director of Esack Brothers Industries Ltd Mohammad Ali, secretary general of BICDA Mohammad Ruhul Amin Sikder, director of SAPL Captain Kamrul Islam Mazumder and executive director of KDS Logistics Ltd Ahsanul Kabir.
