Kishoreganj EZ gets licence

Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) has given licence to Kishoreganj Economic Zone (KEZ) Limited, a concern of Nitol Niloy Group, aiming to make the country as an investment hub in the globe. BEZA Executive Chairman Paban Chowdhury handed over the final licence to Managing Director of KEZ Abdul Musabir Ahmed at a function at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the city on Monday. Principal Coordinator (SDG Affairs) in Prime Minister's Office M Abul Kalam Azad attended the function as the chief guest while Nitol Niloy Group Vice President and Lawmaker Selima Ahmed, Executive Chairman of the National Skilled Development Authority M Faruk Hasan and Chairman of the Nitol Niloy Group Abdul Matlub Ahmed were present at the function. The KEZ is being established on 91.63 acres of land in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj district. — BSS

Make Pangaon Inland Terminal profitable: Khalid

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has urged all concerned, including businessmen and customs department, to work together to make the Pangaon Inland Container Terminal more profitable. "The Pangaon Inland Container Terminal will be operated in full swing soon," he said while paying a visit to the terminal at Keraniganj in Dhaka on Monday. The state minister also exchanged views with the officials of the terminal at a meeting as the chief guest. — BSS

Denmark wants to work for agri sector dev

Danish Ambassador in Dhaka Winnie Estrup Petersen has expressed her country's interest to work closely with the Bangladesh government for the development of agricultural sector. "Bangladesh wants to be a partner for the development of Bangladesh's agricultural sector as both the countries have long been enjoying sustainable bilateral relations of their mutual interests," said Petersen during a meeting with Agricultural Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzak at his secretariat office in the city on Monday. Abdur Razzak sought Danish ambassador's cooperation in boosting Danish investments, especially in the area of food processing and marketing. — BSS
