Food and agro int'l expo kicks off in city Mar 27

Participants to highlight rapid food, agro industry dev

They will showcase latest techs and services

The 'Food & Agro Bangladesh International Expo 2019' will begin at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on March 27.

The fourth edition of the exposition has been organised aiming to highlight the rapid development of the food and agro industry and display the latest technologies and services.

Besides, three other exhibitions - the Fourth Poultry and Livestock Bangladesh International Expo 2019, the Fourth Agro Chem Bangladesh Expo 2019, and the International Printing and Packaging Expo 2019 - will also be held simultaneously at the same venue.

CEMS Bangladesh in association with CEMS USA is arranging the event for the fourth consecutive year.

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder is expected to inaugurate the food and agro expo as the chief guest. A total of 13 countries will participate.

President and Group Managing Director of CEMS Global USA & Asia Pacific Meherun N. Islam made the announcement at the city's Economic Reporters' Forum (ERF) on Monday.

She said the exposition will be a perfect platform for manufacturers and suppliers to showcase their products and services.

The expo will assemble agents, distributors, importers, trading companies, wholesalers, retailers, hoteliers, business representatives, restaurateurs, consumers and other bulk purchasers from around the world, Meherun added.

Around 132 exhibitors from Bangladesh, India, China, Thailand, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Palestine, South Korea, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will showcase packaging equipment and materials, food processing equipment, organic agricultural products, and agricultural equipment.

The expo will also showcase hospitality, bakery and retail industries, hotel, restaurant and food service machinery, supplies and services & related technology in Bangladesh.

On the sidelines of the event, CEMS Bangladesh in collaboration with BSAFE Foundation will arrange a seminar on food safety in agricultural practices.

The expos will remain open from 10:30am to 8:30pm every day until March 30.
