The 10th Garment Accessories, Packaging Expo-2019 (GAPEXPO) 2019 will begin in the city on January 17 to showcase latest products, machinery and raw materials.
Bangladesh Garments Accessories & Packaging Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGAPMEA), ASK Trade and Exhibition Private Limited of India and Zakaria Trade and Fair International will jointly organise the four-day exposition at the International Convention City, Bashundhara (ICCB), said a statement issued on Thursday.
Ministers, diplomats, high government officials and non-government organisations, BGMEA & BKMEA members, garment accessories company owners, service companies, foreign and local machinery companies, raw materials producers, exporters and suppliers, industrialists and business leaders of the country are expected to visit the show.
The 10th edition of GAPEXPO is aimed at showcasing latest innovative products and machinery under a common roof to establish bridge between the buyers and manufacturers, said BGAPMEA president Abdul Kader khan.
Bangladesh is the second largest exporters of garment products and it has now become a hub for sourcing goods. "I hope, the expo will help establish a network between the manufacturers and buyers," said Mr Khan.
About 270 companies from more than 20 different countries like India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, USA, United Kingdom (UK), Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Finland, Switzerl and Bangladesh are expected to participate in the exposition.
A very wide range of garment accessories and packaging products such as zippers, buttons, labels, interlining, tissue paper, drawstring, sewing thread, elastic / non-elastic lace, belt, narrow fabrics, gummed tape, scotch tape, masking tape, paper adhesive tape, poly bag, hanger, padding & quilting, screen printing, foil printing, embroidery, collar insert, collar bone and butterfly will be displayed in the expo.
Besides, there will be displays of all modern machineries and cutting edge technologies of garments accessories and packaging industry and many more.
