SMC Enterprise honours eight distinguished women

SMC Enterprise Ltd has honoured eight distinguished women for their outstanding contributions to different fields, says a statement.

The eight women are: Prof Dr Sayeba Akhtar (Health & Medicine), Ruby Rahman (Literature), Moulada Khanam (Art & Culture), Prof Dr Hosne Ara Begum (Social Services), Shahin Samad (Singer), Parvin Mahmuda (Women's Rights), Nasrin Sultana (Challenging Profession) and Akhi Khatun (Sports).

SMC Enterprise Ltd, a reputed business enterprise of the country, honours distinguished women every year to mark International Women's Day. This year, the eight enlightened women were honoured at a programme, titled "JoyaAlokitoNari 2018", held at a hotel in the capital recently.

For three consecutive years, SMC Enterprise has been the title sponsor of "JoyaAlokitoNari" in collaboration with RTV. Joya is a renowned sanitary napkin brand from SMC Enterprise Ltd.

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki, diplomats, celebrities and eminent personalities from the different public and private organisations attended the award-giving ceremony.

Besides, high officials from SMC and RTV were also present.
