A dropped catch is often the difference between lifting the World Cup and going home empty-handed, a fact which has not been lost on Virat Kohli's India. The Men in Blue have dropped just one catch in the tournament so far, and hung on to 14 - the best among all teams.

Pakistan players have dropped the most number of catches during the ongoing 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup which has significantly impacted their quest for a semi-final slot, report agencies.

The sub-continent side has grassed 14 catches in total which is the most by any team in the mega event. Six catches were dropped in the encounter against South Africa alone, on Sunday. Pakistan have dropped a total of 14 chances, or 35 per cent of their catching opportunities so far in this Cup.

England are second in the list with 12 (before Tuesday's Australia-England game) dropped catches against their name. Also unexpectedly, New Zealand have let nine chances go begging.

Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have been comparatively better in the fielding department throughout the World Cup with four, three and two dropped catches respectively.
