Shami 2nd Indian to take hat-trick in WC

Mohammed Shami created history as he became the second India bowler to take a hat-trick in a World Cup match on Saturday.

He became the second India bowler after Chetan Sharma's feat in 1987. In a remarkable display of skill and control, Shami held his nerves to defend 16 runs in the final over of India's match against Afghanistan, according to the Indian Express.

Shami finished his sensational spell with 4 wickets for 40 runs off 9.5 overs.

Chetan Sharma's accomplishment was during India's match against New Zealand in the 1987 edition of the quadrennial event.
