Tk 4.05b budget allocated for July uprising victims

Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed proposed an allocation of Tk 4.05 billion (Tk 405 crore) on Monday for the families of martyrs from the July mass uprising and injured individuals in the national budget for the fiscal year 2025-26.

"I am proposing an allocation of over Tk 4.05 billion for the families of martyrs from the July mass uprising and injured victims in the upcoming 2025-26 fiscal year," he said while presenting the proposed budget.

He mentioned that the 'July Mass Uprising Directorate' has already been set up, and efforts are underway to convert the Ganabhaban into the 'July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum' to preserve the ideals and spirit of the uprising at the state and national levels.

"A policy will soon be developed to provide allowances to the families of martyrs and injured victims. Necessary steps are also being taken for their treatment and rehabilitation," he added.
