0.8m shrimp seeds released, two boatmen fined

KHULNA, Apr 25: A mobile court of Morelganj, Bagerhat, released 0.8 million (8 lac) seized shrimp seeds in the rivers. The court also fined two trawler owners Tk 5000.

Contingent Commander of Coast Guard of Morelgonj Maidul Islam said that the coastguard conducted a drive at Panguchi river on early Wednesday and arrested 5 people with two trawlers while they were carrying shrimp seeds of about 0.8 million illegally from Mohipur of Patuakhali towards Rampal, Bagerhat. Later they were presented to mobile court. Executive Magistrate HM Shaiful Islam fined both boatmen Tk 5000 and released the shrimp seeds in the river.
