11 fishermen go missing as trawler sinks in Bay

Eleven fishermen went missing as a trawler capsized in the Bay of Bengal in southern part of Bhola district on Sunday evening. The trawler carrying 18 fishermen sank in the Bay while they were fishing at Challish Pani under Daulatkhan Upazila around 7:10pm during bad weather, police said. They said seven of the fishermen were rescued by fellow fishermen in a nearby trawler. Upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Mustafizur Raman said a search operation aided by the fishermen of the trawler was going on to rescue the missing people, according to UNB.
