135 sacks of fake fertilisers seized in Natore

NATORE, July 26 (UNB): A mobile court here on Friday seized 135 sacks of fake Triple Super Phosphate (TSP) fertiliser from a shop at Walia Bazar in Lalpur upazila here on Friday.

The court also fined the owner of the shop, Moazzem Hossain, Tk50,000, in default, to suffer three months' jail.

Police said one Matin Sardar of Walia Centre Para village bought some TSP fertiliser from the shop of Moazzem in the morning.

When he spread the fertiliser in his crop field, he found something fishy.

Later he informed the matter to local agriculture officer Jakaria who identified the fertiliser to be fake after testing.
