15 fishermen jailed for illegally catching hilsa in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ, Oct 14 (BSS): A mobile court on Tuesday sentenced 15 fishermen to different jail terms for catching hilsa fish during the ban period.
A team led by executive magistrate Masud Parvej conducted the drive in Bejgaon, Gaudia, Dohri, Kalma and Cedar Char areas of the Padma River in Louhajang upazila and arrested the fishermen for catching hilsa during the prohibited period, said senior fisheries officer of Louhajang upazila Md. Rezaul Islam.
