1,590 farmers get seed, fertilisers in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Oct 27 (BSS): A total of 1,590 flood affected farmers of five upazilas of the district got seeds and fertilizers from the government last two days till Sunday free of cost to recover their losses caused by recent flood.

The seeds and the fertilisers were distributed to the farmers through the respective upazila agriculture offices under post flood agriculture rehabilitation programme undertaken by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Of the total, 190 farmers from Sadar upazila, 270 from Sundarganj upazila, 650 in Fulchhari upazila, 380 from Shaghata upazila and 150 in Gobindaganj upazila.

On Saturday, whip of the Bangladesh Parliament Mahabub Ara Begum Gini formally inaugurated the seeds and the fertilizer distribution activity to the farmers of Sadar upazila in the district as the chief guest.
