2 commit suicide in Khulna

KHULNA, Dec 20: Two persons committed suicide, one by taking poison and hanging the other by the city today.
The deceased were identified as Ashish Kumar Roy (45), son of Provat Kumar Roy of village Chunkuri under Dacop upazila and Anisur Rahman Khan (40), son of late Mobarak Khan of Belayet Hossain road of Natun Bazar area of the city.
Police and local sources said that Ashish Kumar Roy came to Khulna city with his wife Shormistha Roy at their relative's house at Bagmara Bankers' Colony under Sonadanga thana of the city. Ashish Kumar hanged himself from a ceiling fan in their room over family feud. He was taken to Khulna Sadar Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead.
In another incident, Anisur Rahman of Belayet Hossain road under Sadar thana of the city took poison at his house over family feud and fell sick at about 3am. Local people rushed him to General Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead.
In this connection two separate cases were filed with respective thanas.
