2-day Amal fair opens in Jessore

JESSORE, Jan 18: A two-day long Amal fair marking the 11th anniversary of death of the Tebhaga movement leader Amal Sen was inaugurated at Bankri Primary School ground under Bagharpara Upazila in Jessore Friday.
The programme included placing of floral wreath at the grave of Amal Sen, discussion meetings, art competition, recitation, staging of dramas and setting of stalls of foods and many other things that represent cultures of rural Bangladesh.
Minister for civil aviation Rashed Khan Menon, MP, inaugurated the fair as the chief guest on Friday while it was attended among others by workers party and left leaning party leaders- Anisur Rahman Mallik, Bimol Biswas, Fazle Hossain Badsha, Hafizur Rahman, MP  and other party leaders.
