2 killed in separate incidents in Pabna

Our Correspondent PABNA, Sep 3: An elderly man was killed and 20 persons were injured in separate clashes on Saturday and Friday. The deceased was identified as Sadar Ali Mondal, 70, of village Peerpur in Pabna sadar upazila. Officer-in charge of Pabna police station Enayeet Uddin said that the supporters of Bhanra union porishad chairman also Awmi League leader Abu Sayeed and another AL leader Kafil Uddin locked in a bloody clash with sharp weapons, leaving an elderly man died on the spot and at least 10 persons injured on Saturday morning on Saturday mornig. OC said that a cow of Sadar Ali Mondal, the supporter of the Kafil Uddin had damaged a brinjal field against group supporter Abu Hanif of UP chairman Abu Sayeed. Both group supporters were bargaining about the matter. At one stage, they engaged in a bloody clash with weapons, Sadar Ali Mondal died on the spot and 10 others injured. Another report adds: A man was beaten to death by his neighbours over the past enmity at village Nesrapra in Faridpur upazila of Pabna on Tuesday night, a day before the Eid day. The victim was identified as Ebadad Ali, 60, of the village Nesrapra is a farmer police said. Quoting the family members police said that the feud between Ebadad Ali and his neighbourig Chand Ali member over a disputed land adjacent to their residence was continuing since long. Out of the past enmity Ebadad and Chand started bargaining over the enmity of the land dispute at about 7pm on Tuesday. Suddenly Chand along with his men beat up Ebadad mercilessly with iron rod and bamboo sticks inside his residence, said Kazi Jahidul Hafiz, the officer in charge of Faridpur police station. The victim was taken to Pabna Medical College Hospital but he died on the way, the OC said.
