2 suspected robbers lynched in Khulna

KHULNA, Apr 8 (UNB): Two suspected robbers were killed and two others injured in a lynch-mob attack at Putimari village in Dumuria upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Mustakin Gazi, 26, son of Moksed alias Rifle Moksed of Bagachra village and Jonny Elahi Khaza, 27, son of Abdur Rashid of Araji Sajiara village in the upazila.

Police said a gang of 10-12 robbers swooped on the house of Sukumar Biswas and two more houses at the dead of night and looted valuables, including cash and gold ornaments, from the three houses.

Locals chased them and caught four of them while they were trying to flee with the booty.

Later, the villagers gave them a tremendous thrashing, leaving them critically injured.

They were taken to Dumuria Upazila Health Complex where Mustakin and Jonny succumbed to their injuries at about 1:30 pm.
