2 workers missing after Sylhet boat capsize

SYLHET, Jan 26 (UNB): At least two workers went missing as a boat capsized in the Jadukata River in Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj district on Sunday morning.

The missing workers were identified as Abu Sayeed, 18, and Ayna Mia, 18, of Rajnagar village of Biswamvarpur upazila.

Officer-in-charge of Tahirpur Police Station Anisur Rahman Khan said the sand-laden boat with two workers on board suddenly sank in the river at Sinarket around 6am.

On information, police and divers from the Fire Brigade rushed to the spot and recovered the boat but the two workers remained missing till filing of the report.
