2,000-kg Hilsa seized in Benapole

BENAPOLE, Feb 12 (UNB): Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 2,000 kgs of Hisla fish while those were being smuggled out to India through Gatipara border Benapole early Wednesday.
Acting on secret information that a huge quantity of Hilsa was being smuggled to India, a team of the BGB battalion-23 launched a drive in the area early in the morning and seized 2,000 kgs of the fish worth Tk 1.7 million, said commanding officer of BGB.
